Lene Hansen is Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen. She is the author of Security as Practice: Discourse Analysis and the Bosnian War (Routledge, 2006) and the co-author (with Barry Buzan) of The Evolution of International Security Studies (Cambridge University Press, 2009). Her main areas of current research are visual international politics, gender and security, the history of security studies, critical security studies, discourse analysis and foreign policy, and critical methodologies and world politics. She has published on these issues in journals such as International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, Review of International Studies, Millennium and Security Dialogue. She is the director of the research project “Bodies as Battleground: Gender Images and International Security” funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.
